He has been a good signing overall. Which is why he deserves less criticism than Grealish.

But i think giving him that new contract was a mistake. It makes it hard to shift him, and unless someone is willing to take Grealish off our hands. We might be stuck with the wing options we have for another season or 2.

What?

Mahrez has won four Premier League titles, the FA Cup, the League Cup three times, and captained Algeria to victory in the 2019 African Cup of Nations. He's a Champions League runner-up and has scored 4 goals in Champions League semi-finals. He's played over 200 games for City, scoring more than 60 goals. He's made over 250 PL appearances in total and has notched 78 goals in that time. He was the top scorer for last season's Premier League champions, he's won Premier League POTY and African FOTY, and he's widely regarded in Algeria as one of their greatest ever players.

He's not in good form this season and I think he needs phasing out but to act like he's never been any good is beyond preposterous.
Chill out it's New Year's day.
Tongue in cheek n all that.
Bet your little pinky's have cramp now after typing all that.
Hopefully you'll find a better sense of humour for the remainder of 2023

On the balance of what he's contributed since arriving, you have to say he's been a success; albeit a moderate success. But there's just something about him, as a player, that I can't warm to. Maybe it's because he's so one-dimensional, which is unusual given Pep likes his players to be adaptable and comfortable in any position. He's so powderpuff, there's no explosiveness about his game.

An average signing for me.

Wont be too bothered when he hangs up his boots at all....

Sublime skill but not got the application, heart or desire to go with it.....Give him the fight of a David Silva for instance and he could have been held in regard at the same level....but he is nowhere near that for me.

Wanted to sell him last season but think he will stay to see out his contract unless PSG are tempted

Putting in slide tackles and running like a headless chicken doesn’t make you a world class player.

He regularly covers the most distance on the pitch.

He puts in defensive work, he’s just not very aggressive. Yeah it’s annoying but think about it. He doesn’t injure himself trying to tackle someone, doesn’t get carded much.

That sort of sums up my feelings towards him.
