Can’t weigh him up at all me,one week looks a world beater week after looks like a non league player
This is utter bollocks. He can defend very well. He's shown that against some of the best attackers in the world and all whilst playing on the wrong side. He gets caught out because he's very invovled in our attacking play. Unless you have walkers freakish pace that's unavoidable for somebody who is asked to spend more time as high up the pitch as our attackers than with our other defenders. You can sit him alongside the back 4 or tucked in like zinchenko and he wouldn't be exploited but you lose too much. the lack of cover for him is the issue. Rodri is incapable of providing it as he isn't mobile enough, so it's usually Bernardo, but he wasn't that deep today.Another Kolarov.
Beautiful passer of the ball, but can't defend.
Laporte is faster than Dias. Laporte has shown good recovery pace plenty of times, Dias gets left for dead in a foot race if he's out of position, first goal shows that.He played more like a left winger today and was caught out of position , i think Dias playing on the left is vital he covers for Cancelo much better than Laporte who can be done for pace , maybe revert to Stones /Dias partnership and Cancelo forays upfield will not cost us as much.
Not got a stopwatch so will have let others judge that , Son had a three yard star on Dias and the only player catching him would have been Walker , but when Stones is on the right and Dias on the left i believe Dias is more effective when Cancelo vacates the left back position , not a criticism of Laporte all three are excellent , and Ake is improving with every game he plays. Todays defensive performance was dire from all four players. This is utter bollocks. He can defend very well.
