Gotta say I was impressed! Came on at 1-1, not an easy introduction at all. brought a lot of energy and seems to have lifted the team a little. had a hand in the second goal. All in all quite lovely

Great to see another player with great energy in the middle of the park. We know Pep will get him drilled on his role, but the one weakness the City side has had in previous campaigns is a lack of energy/pace on the defensive in midfield which is why we've prioritised control over being slightly more risky. Now with players like Nunes and Kovacic we have a lot more energy next to Rodri and that means we can look to attack with more pace and mix our game up when it's required. The squad is looking in great shape for another fantastic season. Great to see us start strongly and hopefully we can continue on that vein and not have to play catch up.

I’m trying to think of anyone in midfield we’ve had who’s had any genuine sprinters’ pace, going back to the start of this century.

Foden when he plays there which hasn’t been often in his career… then… Yaya on his big bouncing runs forward… that’s about it!

Once his technique and understanding of the tactics get up to par, hell become a starter.

He just brings more to the table than anyone else at CM other than Rodri.

Kova and Bernardo might keep him out for a couple of weeks, but once he is up to speed he'll be in the 11 next to Rodri weekly.


I have no doubts. The things he is good at can't be taught.
