His performances have been acceptable of late, today he was back to his usual soft arse ineffective rubbish after about half an hour.
He’s nothing special and never will be. Done alright recently and has been playing just because of injuries

Not our level.

Period....

Playing OK isn't enough for City and with that kind of approach, we would have never won PL titles and CL.
One good dribbling here and there and stuff like that, isn't enough to be considered worthy of City's level.

I remember kids like Palmer and Ocar (not even mentioning Phil) making debuts and playing better than this guy, but they were 18/19/20 years old and he is 26 or 27.

We are wasting time here, of course he isn't "Kalvin Phillips Bad" which means that at least we will get some money, but fore sure he should be sold.

Standard is that you should be best or one of the bests on your position to be playing for City's first team.
And bench player should be playing at least like Doku, Kovacic, Akanji and Ortega are playing ie players who are very close to being one of the bests on their positions. Or at least have some future in you, like Oscar / Phil / Palmer and other ones had.

Matheus has neither, therefore he should be sold.

Otherwise this crisis will never be defeated.

Surely Pep and Txiki didn’t buy this guy to be played as a winger? Hadn’t seen him play there once before he came to us.

I think he’s a pretty good player and has been a standout in recent weeks but once Doku , Grealish and Bobb come back he won’t be a starter on the flanks.

I think he’s best in midfield and that’s where he should play but for various reasons Pep doesn’t think he’s good enough. He’ll be a good squad player anyway but I’d play to see him get his chance in midfield properly.

The reason he doesn't play in midfield is that he struggles in winning the ball back while defending and if there is like 50/50 physical duel for the ball, he always looses.

That tackle against Wolves was great, but one tackle in 10 games isn't enough for a midfielder.

The reason we struggle in midfield is because we lack fighters there, who can tackle and grab the ball from the opponents. That's why our pressing has become weak and opponents are able to pass the ball around.

I remember players like Jesus or even Julian Alvarez last season, they were defending and winning above mentioned duels like the decent level midfielders do.

The guy can piss off for me. Watching him bottle out of a 50/50 in the last minute when we’re losing again was the last straw, don’t wear the fucking shirt if your not going to put your body on the line.

Maybe he is not good enough, maybe he was a strange signing, but in the last month he has done more than most at this club and is the least of our issues.
He was at fault for both goals and was generally bang average throughout the game yesterday.

He’s wank. People need to stop clinging on to the idea of him being anything but.

I didnt say he was, I literally acknowledged that's the league only and he's played in 3 competitions. I merely used the premier league nominations for the best players in the month as a comparison to what Nunes has done in all comps to justify me saying hes been one of the best players in the league since coming in. He's our joint second top scorer and joint second in assists having played far fewer minutes than any other winger, he's been excellent.

If you genuinely think he’s been excellent you have absolutely no understanding of the game mate.

“Excellent” is peak era Kev, David, Yaya, Fernandinho etc.

Okay I'd like to hear it from everyone here..

I think he's had 10 games.. so we have a good idea of who he is..

On a scale of 1-5 what would you rate Nunes's performances have been for us this season?

1. Diabolical
2. Dissapointing
3. Adequate
4. Revelation
5. Extraordinary
1.

And he’s been that from day 1.

WOW! And here I was thinking the left back could have cleared it but was on the ground while the center back was falling over him…all in the 6 yard box, but that was just for the first goal.

For the second goal, the left back let the sub get a step on him, beat him to the ball and slot it in past the onrushing keeper. Alas, he might have the complaint that the centre back let the ball run through for the runner, but then that’d mean they were both at fault for both goals, but that was clearly not the case, as it was the left winger’s fault!

New scapegoats need not apply, we have our quota!

He’s far from wank, but it appears that’s not a discussion we are going to have, as your position is crystal clear.

However, I’m curious…wank or not…

Ederson?
Walker?
Gvardiol?
Simpson-Pusey?
Lewis?
Kovacic?
Gundogan?
Foden?
Savinho?
Haaland?
KDB?
Bernardo?
Akanji?
Ake?
Dias?
Stones?
McAtee?
Doku?
Grealish?
Ortega?
Carson?
O’Reilly?
Wright?
Wilson-Esbrand?
Bobb?

And, what’s the “Wank >>>>> Excellent” scale based on? This weekend, this week, last month, last season, last year, reputation?

They say class is permanent, so does that apply to wank, too, or does wank come and go?

BTW, did I miss anyone?

I know Rodri isn’t on that list, but as he was recently named the best player in the world, I’m going to take the liberty of saying he is not wank!

A-n-d, b-r-e-a-t-h-e!

Watch the first goal mate. Him and Gvardiol are both within kicking distance of the ball but both have their thumbs up their arses and decline to take responsibility.

Watch the 2nd goal. The initial passing line through our midfield could easily have been cut out if he could’ve read the situation and/or been arsed enough to move about 2 meters.

He’s wank.

It sounds like you made football look so easy when you played. I wish I could have seen that.

He’s certainly not flavor of the month around here, but he has been putting in better performances than most recently and, while Brighton wasn’t a highlight, he was far from the worst player in a City kit…hence the quiz!

Who do you think isn’t cutting the mustard mate?
