Who do you think isn’t cutting the mustard mate?
I asked first!

Who’s wank? And what’s the time scale? Game, week, month, season, career?

You’re telling me a full international, for whom City paid handsomely, in the prime of his career, is playing in the supposed best team in the world, is wank.

I’m sorry, but I’m not having it.

Walker
Lewis
Akanji
Simpson-Pusey
Gundogan
Foden
Bernardo
Kdb

That’s a short list of players who have been playing worse than him in recent games. Now, if you want to include Haaland for the chances he’s missed, I’d argue he’s scored a few, but with the exception of the Brighton game, he’s not been lighting up my life, either.

I’ve omitted both Doku and Savinho, because they’ve shown flashes of brilliance, albeit without end product, and have left out the walking wounded who haven’t played hardly any minutes recently.

No-one has been tearing up trees recently, but it feels slightly personal to even think of highlighting Nunes as wank recently, especially given the dire performances of some players.

I’ll leave it there. It’s late here and sleep beckons. I’m sure I’ll wake up to more “The End is Nigh and Pep is an arrogant twat for suggesting City might let someone else win the League this season!” for Sunday, so I have that to look forward to!

Weird time to be putting the boot into Nunes. He's been working his bollocks off for us lately and one of the few players creating anything. Has he been perfect? No, but he's making the best of it in an underperforming side playing an unfamiliar role.
Unfortunately working his bollocks off is his problem not his strength. When the going gets tough in games his bollocks disappear.

What sporting and Brighton games confirmed to me is that this lad has the head loss gene in his locker.

Giving away stupid fouls towards the end of yesterday, along with the penalty in the Sporting game.

One to watch.

In response to your third paragraph Kalvin Phillips says hi.

I just can't get buy into him. Two of those free kicks he needlessly gave away late on when we needed to keep the pressure on had me fuming. He just doesn't seem to have much between his ears.

He's got something and is undoubtedly talented but I think he's more suited to a lesser team who will let him do what he wants.

Top lad. One of the few who should be going on international duty, played every game for us in this slump, played well in that time and is somebody that has been very much on the periphery of the national side with lots of strong competition yet he's chosen to put his club career first when many don't even want him to have one.

Brilliant commitment. That's going to get him in Peps good books.

or he's injured

WOW! And here I was thinking the left back could have cleared it but was on the ground while the center back was falling over him…all in the 6 yard box, but that was just for the first goal.

For the second goal, the left back let the sub get a step on him, beat him to the ball and slot it in past the onrushing keeper. Alas, he might have the complaint that the centre back let the ball run through for the runner, but then that’d mean they were both at fault for both goals, but that was clearly not the case, as it was the left winger’s fault!

New scapegoats need not apply, we have our quota!

He’s far from wank, but it appears that’s not a discussion we are going to have, as your position is crystal clear.

However, I’m curious…wank or not…

Ederson?
Walker?
Gvardiol?
Simpson-Pusey?
Lewis?
Kovacic?
Gundogan?
Foden?
Savinho?
Haaland?
KDB?
Bernardo?
Akanji?
Ake?
Dias?
Stones?
McAtee?
Doku?
Grealish?
Ortega?
Carson?
O’Reilly?
Wright?
Wilson-Esbrand?
Bobb?

And, what’s the “Wank >>>>> Excellent” scale based on? This weekend, this week, last month, last season, last year, reputation?

They say class is permanent, so does that apply to wank, too, or does wank come and go?

BTW, did I miss anyone?

I know Rodri isn’t on that list, but as he was recently named the best player in the world, I’m going to take the liberty of saying he is not wank!

A-n-d, b-r-e-a-t-h-e!
Well played Chicago. Some fucking ridiculous stuff on this thread lately that needed to be called out. Obviously, some people aren't happy unless there's a whipping boy onto whom they can offload their bile.

Putting club before country, at least this guy wants to try and make his future in our shirt.

Very good player for us if he's surrounded by our usual 1st team who are fit and on form. Not good enough to carry the team through games. That's the problem with him at the moment. Not his fault and not a bad player at all and improving all the time. This run in the team will do him wonders though, especially for his confidence - as in. believing he is part of the team, now.
