Interesting stat: Nunes has contributed 7 goals/assists so far, more than any City player not named Haaland.

Why was he on the bench for 86 minutes??
Maybe he should be on the pitch at the moment but anyone thinking he could be the difference just shows how big the cliff we’ve fallen off is. The manager doesn’t even trust him in his natural position where we currently look like we’ve got geriatrics

This same manager is trusting Gundogan and Walker to play 90mins every two days. I am not sure if this so called trust is worth what it used to be.

Oh yeah i don’t disagree on those 2. The maddest game for me was Liverpool away. I thought i’m not sure what he could try but he couldn’t play that midfield 3 there as we were getting over run by average teams. What he basically tried was just 2 of them with Lewis almost playing as a winger. We were so lucky not to be 4 down by h/t in that one as it was men against boys. Last night was more worrying for me than a few previous games. As going forwards he picked the team that was good against Forest but last night we created next to nothing

Never convinced by his signing but given that he’s still here, I’m even more perplexed as to why he hasn’t been used in either of the fullback positions, especially when inverted.

He's useful and he's shown his skill set in getting accurate crosses and passes through defenses to Erling. He also hustles and tracks back defensively if we lose the ball and is willing to make tackles.

The thing is 55 million just doesn't buy what 55 million used to buy and he's not Bernardo Silva that was bought for 53 mil.

But honestly this might be looked upon as sacriledge.. if you take G/A's into account.. who's more productive on our team.. Bernardo or Nunes?

Might have to spit out the dummy with that but you have to admit.. he's not the problem at the moment. And often most of the time he is the solution.

FFS he's a lot better than our transfer frauds: Philips, Mendy, Bony etc.. but he gets a lot of hate no matter what.. just like Mahrez. I wonder why..

Said since pre-season that his attributes would be better utilised heading in the defensive direction. He has genuine pace over longer distances and stamina, too, so while playing him higher up the pitch may lead to the occasional assist, we would be better balanced as a team if he were used as an inverted fullback. There are others who can penetrate in the final third, but we genuinely don’t have anyone else who can get back to cover, and until we close that door, we’ll remain jittery in attack.

Good buy or bad buy, whether you like him or not he’s currently more effective than most. On that basis, he should be playing.

Besides, there’s a strong risk of KdB being out again soon. He’s walking wounded and his brittleness is being severely tested.

He should never put on a city shirt again. What an absolute shithouse. Words cannot express how stupid it was to sign him.

I don't think he's good enough to stay beyond the upcoming rebuild, but he's played well in different positions during a tough period that's seen us hit with dozens of injuries. Once Kovacic is back - and once we sign another DM in January - he'll be nowhere near the team, but when the chips have been down he's done okay.
This did not age well
