Ive noticed some his mistakes come from lunging in when he shoulf just jockey.

This can be fixed with clear coaching and some experience.

Otherwise, the rest of his game as a wide RB suits us well.

It was horrible defending, but I thought he responded well to it.

I KNOW I'm a broken record with this and I'm sure Pep has his reasons, but I don't understand how he doesn't think his legs aren't DESPERATELY needed in midfield versus right back, even with the potential downsides of him playing there. It's not like Gundo, and on the whole, Kovacic both aren't constantly losing the ball and/or getting run by anyway.

Im a little with Pep on this.

I also wanted him in midfield with his legs, but ive noticed his 1st touch is JUST a level below our standard, and he is more likely to lose the ball.

But out wide, his 1st touch as a RB is MORE than good enough compared to a defender.

His crossing is extremely underrated.

His pace and stamina is also top notch, he go up and down for the whole 90 mins.

He is so suited as an attacking RB, more than anywhere else.

A 26 year old doesn’t need to be coached as to why that defending was shite. He’s a distinctly average footballer. The fact he is mobile shouldn’t be being lauded as some untapped potential it’s a bare minimum. First half he was fucking woeful thankfully he had very little to do second. Imagine him marking Vini Jr.

Imagine LEWIS marking Vini ! You act like there is any RB in this world that’s 100% going to stop Vinicius.

Clearly cant defend but gives us a great outlet going forward. A bit like cancelo with a good attitude.

To be fair to the lad he gives 100%.
And it's not easy playing right back when your naturally a midfield player.
I did it it playing for buxton and it was hard at that level.
But.
With the squad we have and the money we have.
We should have better options at right back.
But I'll not knock the lad.

I’m not either really. He’s our best current option by a mile.

As others have said, he needs to be coached when to commit and when to drop off. He’s been done twice now like that.

If he learns not to do it again, we have a very decent right back option.

Hope your right.

Not every player has to be a world beater.
Look at the rag cunts when they were at the top.
I know a long time ago.
But they had Phil neville and nicky butt.
Both shite but gave 100%

He did okay overall. He is the best we have, although against the top teams, I would prefer Akanji or Stonesy there.

Exactly! He is some specific coaching away from being a potentially good wing back.

And, to expand on your point, getting done on the halfway line when playing a high line REALLY needs to be coached out of him!

I will agree with you to a point. He is certainly our best current RB option , until dias and ake are fit and stones can stay fit (wishful thinking i know) and akanji can be shuffled across.

But if nunes is the answer, what the fucks the question.
Full of effort but hes way off standard of being a midfielder for us and hes no where good enough at rb.

Just a really strange buy
