His defending is quality. Just needs to work on his passing as he’s nearly dropped us in the shit a few times with under hit or inaccurate passes.

Yeah a couple times that has happened but I think it’s easier to get better at passing then becoming a leader if that makes sense? The leadership he brings is so important and soon enough his technical abilities will match it

Imagine the plaudits he'd be getting if he was at a darling club.

He'd already have both hands in assorted player of the world awards.

Outstanding defender as other have said if he had a Dipper shirt on his back he would have had an MBE before Xmas , just love his no nonsense defending there are bound to be comparisons to VK and rightly so , and he's signed for six years as well , a future captain in the making.

I think he might be captain as soon as next season. I would prefer he was and let Kev concentrate on his own performance.

Yeah, everything about him just screams Kompany. Kompany wasn't some natural ball-playing centre back either, but makes it all up for his defensive ability.

Ooohhh....harsh.I know to what you are referring but on the flip he has also made some very classy passes and kicked off some good attacks.

He is as close to the ideal centre half as we could have hoped for,IMO.

I think this is just a bit of a myth that's developing because it's a nice story to think we signed a Kompany replacement that's defence first and no nonsense.

The truth is Dias was involved in the build up of something like 40% of Benfica's goals last year and his passing was one of his standout attributes. He's a very good passer and every bit the Pep style defender, he's just good at old fashioned defending as well.

He hasn't quite shown his best passing here yet, probably because he's just getting his feet under the table, getting to grips with the system etc and of course, he doesn't need to be the main passer from the back, but it will come.
