I used to really think "yea yea whatever" when people spoke about Van Dijks impact at Liverpool, how it brought everyone around him up etc.

Watching Dias, I get it completely.

Hopefully captain next year, only 23. Scary.

First half. Sheff ball down the channel for Burke. He’s after it fast. Dias keeps up with him and forces him to the touchline. “Ok slide tackle for a corner and regroup” I’m thinking ...
Nope! Dias slides, hooks the ball, send Burke flying and comes out with the ball and brings it forward.
wtf? Just smile and enjoy. What a fucking player.

he’s unbelievable. We need a gif of that.

Thought ‘The Washing Machine’ was faultless again today. Andy Morrisonesque impact since his debut. He likes a clean sheet. ;)

Two thoughts:

I’d hate to be the player that makes a mistake which allows another team to eventually score against us. Ruben will not be pleased!

Portugal are going to be hard to score against in the Euros, that’s for sure.

Being genuine here, is there a CB under 28 who’s either as good as him or has as high a ceiling as him?

Early days but he’s has an impact on the same level as Aguero, KDB, Kompany, Silva, Toure.

It is hard to envisage. Joules Kounde, who we allegedly were interested in, is now yet another of Manchester United's targets, according to the media. I have not seen a lot of him but he seems extremely highly rated.

I took the time to gather the stats for this season so far across all club comps and Dias has STILL conceded fewer goals than VVD, despite Van Dijk being sat at home for most of it. This guy is unreal.

This is my favourite thread.

I love nothing more than reading everyone wax lyrical about Ruben. What a player.

He matches the signings of Sergio and KDB for immediate impact.

Ruben can lead us to the champions league.

There was a block he put in around the 88th minute where he dived to the floor to block it, seemingly, before their lad had even cocked his leg back to shoot. The shot came and the ball just cannoned off him.
Yeah, plus the slide tackle early on. Two extraordinary interventions which, along with continuous organisation, made him my MotM.
