IMO Dias is nowhere near as good as people on here seem to think. He's a difficult watch.

He seems to evade a lot of criticism on here, has he actually progressed since his first season? I wouldn't put him near the bracket of top centre halves in the league personally.

Those comments yesterday were also ridiculous, as a senior player he should be tearing into his own team mates instead of how an inferior opposition decides to set up against us.

No he hasn´t imo. To be honest , i think his first season is still his best.

I think the problem is he was superb after his arrival having great defenders alongside him on a relatively consistent basis. Not having them, this season especially, has shown some of his weaknesses.

Dias is one of the best out there, he is having a bad patch, happened to Kompany in Pellegrini's second season, the lack of trust in his team mates made him try to take on multiple responsibilities and he ended up looking clumsy that season, it happens. As soon as Dias starts playing alongside a confident, reliable full back and Rodri returns, he would get back to his best.

As for his statement, he's a sore loser, that's that. It happens to the best, I remember Messi and Rakitic taunting Espanyol for going down after Espanyol used the same tactics Southampton used yesterday.

What you on about? Laporte was quality. Dias too, although I do feel he has regressed.

Laporte tackled with the wrong foot on many occasions, one if which caused his lengthy injury absence. His body shape when under pressure was awkward and he was easy meat once put off balance by speed.

He was obviously a decent player but he was completely unsuited to the pace of the PL.

It was a very easy decision to allow him to go.

Laporte had 1 good season & he wasn't far better at anything than anybody. He used to misjudge everything. Long balls & bouncing balls anywhere near Laporte was worrying, I've honestly never seen a defender have the ball dropped in behind him over the top more than Laporte.

Laporte took us to a title when all our defenders were injured, that cost him his elite football career with a chronic knee issue, for that I will always have total respect for him.
