That disjointed feel is down to not having a consistent back line, surely that’s not being discounted? The ability to play out is a shadow of itself without Dias, Laporte and stones; the others are no way near that standard, despite being solid defensively, hence the tinkering that has gone on…

I think some of our fanbase are becoming extremely entitled, expecting super human performances year on year, blind that its
Nigh on impossible to sustain; that isn’t aimed at you by the way, just the general consensus observed for a good few of our players;

We sit top, again, with a wank GK, shit defence, geriatric midfield and striker who doesn’t fit our style of play, despite scoring 30+ goals by January..

We’re doomed (:
Bang on. Ederson is probably my favourite player as he is absolutely intrinsic to the way we play. I grant that he doesn't save as many shots as other keepers, but maybe that's because they face a lot more shots than he does. I do join in the jokes about the first shot on target......but why not!

For those saying his distribution is crap this season - not sure I'd agree as we're different with Haaland - oh, it was his ball out that lead to the 1st goal last night.

Well Allison keeps him out of the national side,so make your own mind up over that I suppose,I know who I'd sooner have, but been off it a bit this season no doubt.
Fred also plays for Brazil. I wouldn't put any stock in that. This isn't 1970's Brazil.

Keeper at Brentford is a far better shot stopper than Ederson and he is probably not ranked in the top 100 keepers in the world . His distribution and passing is a million miles short of Ederson,s level though so here lies the differential. Brentford,s keeper has refused 3 improved contracts at Brentford so he is off somewhere…….
Which was my point. Ederson is the best keeper in the world for a Pep team in my humble opinion

I literally love him but his form and concentration this season has dipped that is undeniable. Has cost us some very sloppy goals and created some unnecessary situations with his lack of concentration/decision making . End of the day any goalkeeping errors are glaringly highlighted and stand out more than outfield player’s errors. Can Ederson be better ? most certainly he can ! He was the best in the world 2018 , 2019 and 2020 for me , a bit more of that from him please !

I don't get all the Ederson negativity.

He has the best passing ability of any first-choice keeper in all top leagues. He has the longest range of passing too. He's not the best at stopping shots and his aggressiveness in the box sometimes doesn't pay off.

Ederson has always been this way.

Yet, due to the way we play, he's the best keeper for our system. I wouldn't trade him for any other.

Don't agree, hence why I've been positive on him up until this season. I think it has got much worse and mistakes have grown much more frequent over the last year or so.

Doesn’t it depend on what you want from a goalkeeper?

In the traditional sense, maybe he’s not top of the tree, but for the way we play, I can’t see a single goalkeeper better in the world for us my friend. Can you?
I agree. Fortunately for Ederson, Pep picks the team.
I suspect he'll be one of the first out of the door when Pep goes.
