In big games Ortega needs to start ahead of him . He is best with his feet but very average at saving shots .

Thankfully we have a manager who is not a fucking eejit and so Ederson will continue to play every big game unless injured.

For the first goal he was physically unable to move anywhere near to the ball.

For the 2nd goal he was unsighted by the players infront of him.

The only possible criticism of him on either goal is maybe he could have had better positioning so as to not block his view of the ball as it was struck. But that’s a bit nit picky I’d say. Not sure what people are blaming him for.

Walker was far more at fault on both.

This has to be trolling at this point surely? The ederson thread never fails to produce the shittiest of shit takes.

People are genuinely blaming him for being fouled by 2 players?

The problem lay very clearly in our set piece set up, it was piss poor. You don't leave your keeper, who generally likes to come and claim things, with zero protection from 2 blockers. That's Sunday league levels of preperation.

There was a worryingly large section that were claiming he should have saved their first goal, too, a shot that hit the side netting just a few inches away from the post.

Not much he could do with either goal. First one was postage stamp, second was a foul.

My only issue with their second goal is it was a carbon copy of the one minutes earlier where he was blocked off by havertz.
We should have set up differently knowing the same ball was coming in.
I don’t put that on Eddie though.

I want to say im shocked but i'm just not, theres a concerning number of fucking idiots that just seem to have it in for Ederson for some unknown reason, the best goalkeeper we could possibly have.

He couldn't have hit it any more perfect, completely unsaveable wonder goal. We concede a freakishly large number of those, we're always the opponents at least once in the goal of the season competition.

Tbf he should, keepers tend to get away with a lot so next time if they are trying to block you just push them away.
Yes, I assume that’s what he’s getting at and I’ve seen it before when opposing players are right in the goalkeepers face. Then if the goalkeeper is strong enough, they push them out of the way and give the referee a nod at what’s happening. If it gets too rough, it’s always going to come down on the side of the goalkeeper.

That first goal, I think he was unsighted, otherwise he might have got to that shot, you know.

cant believe he didnt turn himself non-corporeal and get to the 2nd goal. ffs non-ghost eddie.
