Made some good saves as a goalkeeper should... However the kick & parry leading to Diaz' goal were embarrassing & also the sprinting out towards Vini Jr & a bouncing ball while he has no chance of getting there was ridiculous! Also don't forget he tried his hardest to give a penalty away in the first half but luckily enough it was offside just before.

He's absolutely calamatous & constantly runs out of his net when he shouldn't. If a striker goes through 1v1 you can guarantee it's a goal or a penalty & his kicking is now a shambles. Season on season he faces less shots than every other goalkeeper in the league but has the most goals conceded per shots ratio. I genuinely don't understand why people stick up for him, he's garbage!

It's bigger blue syndrome. They think sticking up for players who aren't good enough or who've had a stinker make's them bigger blues.

You forgot to mention him facing pens. Never seen a worse keeper when it comes to pens ever.

Needs a long spell on the bench, then to be thanked for service and shipped out when the window opens. The same old problems of concentrating and decision making are still there without improvement, magnified by the poor team around him.

Give Ortega the job and stick with him. For the remaining fixtures either he shows he can be the #1 and we sign one new keeper, or he can’t and we sign two - hopefully on the back of enough decent performances to raise his trade value.

Spot on, shite

Who was better? He kept us in it.

Pep's apparently said the same thing too.

Kept us in it? When?

He made a good save from Vinicius second half, but tbh I think he should have come and taken the low cross anyway in the first place. That's the only one I remember.

First half I actually thought his passing and composure was excellent. Second half was like a different player. At fault on all 3 goals - twice on the second one!

I know people like him, but something is off with him at the moment. I'm saying this part slightly tongue in cheek, but it feels like somebody must be making money off his poor decisions.

Agree, he is a total calamity. Mistake after mistake every game. How people can constantly defend old " one shot " is beyond me. When we were great defensively he hardly had anything to do but still regularly made terrible mistakes.

I’ve never been one of the Ederson critics until this season but he clearly wanted out in the summer - something some weirdos on here refused to believe - and he doesn’t look arsed at all now.

Not sure I’m buying these random nondescript “injuries” either if I’m honest.

It’s time for him to go.

Ortega is the wrong side of 30 and Carson needs his coaching position formalised, as we did with Richard Wright who fulfilled that job before him.

We need to sign at least two goalkeepers in the summer and promote a young one to third.

To be honest he's never looked 'arsed". That's his quality. Best keeper we've had since I've been going to City in the early 70's. The whole Pep era has been built around Ederson. If he wants out then fine but we'll never find another Ederson.

Made a good save down to his left from an Mbappe snapshot from 10 yards out, for one.

The problem is he wants to play football too much and not be a world class goalkeeper!!

He seems to think he is both quicker than he is and better than he is, which is a deadly combo. Through in the fact that EVERYONE has known since day one, when he rocked up with neck tattoos and a fucking yellow smiley face behind his ear, that he was bat shit crazy!

I have absolutely no idea why he, even for one moment, thought coming out on Vinicius was a good idea. NONE!

And, how many times has he rushed out and dived at the feet of an onrushing attacker and tripped him without getting anywhere near the ball? Would he have more luck trying to slide tackle them? Sometimes, I think he might!

There is no doubt he can be the best in the world with his distribution, but at what point do the gaffes and stupidity not only level the scales but start to outweigh the good points? Are we there yet?

Hard to see him being here next season if the Saudi money is available. Time to cash in…him & us!

6 Premier Leagues and a Champions League. I think he's got some credit in the bank

Depends what you class as a mistake.

Last night's mistakes (off the top of my head without watching back).

- hesitated after Vini's poor touch and then took him out, saved by the offside.
- off balance for Mbappe's shinner, better balance and it was an easy catch, or at worst, a diving save.
- praised for a one v one save against Vinicius, but I feel the low cross was one he should have come for in the first place.
- horrendous dropkick straight to Real.
- aimless parry straight to Brahim.
- walkabout for no reason on the 3rd goal.

It's not good enough for a team wanting to win things. Neither keeper is in great form, both possibly don't want to be here any more. We need 2 new ones in the summer. Regardless of all the other mistakes by other players, if the keepers were on opposite sides last night we'd have had a comfortable win.
