I mean is he really THAT bad? I know he hasn't impressed in his cameos so far but he's proven he can be a steady Premier League player with Leeds. I know the demands are a lot more with City but something else must have happened that we don't really know about yet.

The fact he couldn't be trusted against Sheffield Utd and even get 30 minutes today, I just don't buy it's an ability thing. I don't think it's just the overweight thing either.

Looking likes he's definitely gone in the summer. Hoping Lavia wants to return.

I have a couple of mates that are Leeds fans. They said his performances in his final season dropped off massively, when he wasn't injured anyway.

Isn't this his 3rd season as a premier league player? Only his first seemed to be good.

Lets be real, many players have had a good single season in the Premier League. Bamford had a very good season that year too, but nobody would want him leading the line for us would they?
 
Was a bizzare signing at the time, questioned by at least 80% of the people on here and it's even more bizzare now that we are almost 12 months into signing him.

Why did Pep sign this one off in the first place?

I put it down to Pep having a very high opinion of Marcelo Bielsa and getting on well with him. I'm sure Bielsa will have raved about Phillips to him at some point. It's the only thing that can explain it for me.

Wasn't questioned by anywhere near 80%.Obviously Pep saw he had the ability to learn what is probably the most important position in our team. Whether he has the intelligence required he wouldn't know until he worked with him. Pep may or my not still believe he can learn it, whether Phillips who knows.Think it will be left to Phillips to decide to give it another go or not.
What won't happen is Pep won't risk anyone in that position who doesn't fully understand how to play it, which makes it different to just about any other position.

I would be against that. Pep must decide whether he will play or not, and if he is not in his plans, he must be moved on because this season we are vulnerable without a reliable Rodri back up.

Well we have no idea what Peps thinking and whether he has plans for next season. I'll just wait and see.

We need to buy two central midfielders this summer, and that’s before any departures are considered.

A club our size and with our level of ambition simply can’t be so dependent on one player’s form and fitness (Rodri).

If we can do a deal with West Ham for Rice and get them to take Phillips off our hands then we should do it.
