I think the fact that Phillips didn't play today really suggests Pep doesn't rate him or trust him ,especially against a side like Leeds where it was obvious we would have 80+%. On his fleeting cameo performances he's done ok. However, it looks to me he's a cert to be off next year.

Especially when you factor in we let Lavia go, who is an infinitely better player.

Lavia has the potential to develop into an absolutely top class footballer. We offloaded him to go for Phillips...

A player who peaked at Leeds in the Championship and caught the eye of the most uninspiring England manager ever.

Recruitment isn't easy apparently.

I can't see Phillips recovering from Pep not trusting him, he'll be gone in the Summer if someone is willing to pay enough for him.

Not really sure what's gone on.

I personally hasn't seen anything in him to think he would cut it at a truly top club like ours, but obviously will back him and happy to be proven wrong.

But people at the club have obviously forgotten more about football than most of us will know, but I'm not sure what they were seeing here and it's become evident Pep doesn't think he's good enough.

Still, our recruitment for the most part has been excellent, there's always gonna be one or two that don't work out.

Who knows, maybe he'll come good but it's become increasingly unlikely when he can barely get on the pitch. Might be better for us to to cut our losses, find someone Pep trusts more in that position for when Rodri can't play and let the lad move on and play football.

have to question his mentality i think. idk it rubbed me the wrong way when he laughed and jokingly said he had a howler in his cameo the other week

All abit odd ain't it?

I mean is he really THAT bad? I know he hasn't impressed in his cameos so far but he's proven he can be a steady Premier League player with Leeds. I know the demands are a lot more with City but something else must have happened that we don't really know about yet.

The fact he couldn't be trusted against Sheffield Utd and even get 30 minutes today, I just don't buy it's an ability thing. I don't think it's just the overweight thing either.

Looking likes he's definitely gone in the summer. Hoping Lavia wants to return.

We can’t even call it a quota signing as we had enough.
