Good shout. I didn’t even consider he was only 23.

No one has apparently, he's not even on the odds list on oddschecker.

I would say Maddison is his Phil's biggest threat, then Calvert-Lewin, who just broke a 5 week goal drought but before that he was right up there and is still in the running for the golden boot.

I suspect Dias will be overlooked for the young award and get nominated for the main award, getting beaten to it by Bruno Fernandes.

I noticed him talking to Laporte at length during the game at Cheltenham about where he wanted the ball. I think he's definitely realised his place in the team and is confident and comfortable enough now to get his message across.

He's only 20, but when you see Dias turn up aged 23 and start leading the side, it will give the other young players confidence to go and do the same. Foden definitely knows the game and how to influence it, and we'll benefit vastly from him continuing to grow in stature.

They changed the criteria last year. The 6 shortlisted for the 19/20 season were all players aged 21 or under on 1/07/2019.

So this year it will be 21 or under on 01/07/2020 unless the extend the cut-off date by a month because of the late start to the season.

Did they actually change it? Or did the players last year just happen to all be 21 and under? Because Calvert-Lewin is second favourite with the bookies and he’s nearly 24.

Missed the game last night. How did Foden play?

He didn’t really see much of the ball, but he was clearly told to stay on the touchline by Pep and stretch their defence. Felt like a bit of a waste of his talents really, but then we won 5-0 so it obviously worked!
