I thought he had a couple flashes of real quality, but otherwise was fairly quiet in attacks. Some good link up play on the left side though.

One thing I can't deny is that he was extremely good at pressing tonight.

Brilliant workrate as always from Phil , and was trying to create all the time just a naturally gifted footballer although i do wince when he dives into 50/50 challenges , would hate him to get a long term injury from some animal trying to make a name for himself,

Quiet again tonight. Great player just lacking the consistency.
Doesn't help when Cancelo is playing left back as he's effectively left as the only player on that side.

consistency comes with age and playing more. Even when he is quiet he puts in so much effort.

Another quiet game from him, can't be brilliant every game and the key is when you have a quiet game you do the basics well which he is doing but with the quality of our side and the position he's currently playing in, if you want to remain a first pick for the big games you can only have a few quiet games in a row before you're down the pecking order, need a big performance from him in the next few games and I back him to deliver.

I was impressed with his "new found speed" as was the expert commentator
I thought everybody knew when you hit 20 you magically develop a plethera of fast twitch fibres in your legs and much like an early growth spurt you have a speed spurt. It's definitely not just a case of Martin Keown being clueless working on a lack of knowledge and cliches as per usual.

Great clips of Phil here.
Gotta love how he never ever dives no matter what..unlike some cheating wankers in this league.
He’s a strong little fucker right now but imagine him in a couple of years time!
Scary times ahead for our rivals.

That was great , thanks . When did football become about throwing yourself over rather than wanting to score the goal ,you can tell he has learnt from sergio and dave
