He has these moments of absolute majesty. It makes you really excited for the future. His defensive work was once again top notch.

One thing though is he is still not hugely involved in the game outside of these moments when we have possession. At this point I'm wondering whether there's something intangible about his game that isn't quite developed yet, or if it's just a tactical thing that I haven't figured out yet.

Remember that turn he did on his debut v Utd in the states?

Middle of the pitch, turned on the spin and broke.

For all the goals, assists and good performances he’s had, we’ve hardly see any of that in his short career so far, he’s played safe.

Said a while ago that we won’t see the best of him until Pep goes and he’s let off his leash.

The natural ability Foden has he should have been running rings around Mctominay and Fred and driving at Maguire and Lindelof today. Exactly what we needed.

Finally. That’s the real Phil.

The who is better Foden or Greenwood thread on Sad Cafe has been suspiciously quiet.. I’m sure an offside scuffed goal will resurrect it though ;)

It feels like one winger in our setup gets very little time on the ball, and the other gets alot more.

Mahrez felt way more involved in this game, and you can see Foden was frustrated because I legitmately forgot he was playing for large periods of time, we just kept ignoring his side.

Might be a tactical thing because the only way for Foden to see the ball more is for him to come centrally and leave his position, and when he did that he assisted for Gundogan too.

Maybe he isn't comfortable enough leaving the wing, or Pep doesn't want him too.

Exceptional talent and what a wonderful jinking run to set up the second goal. He has so much balance, skill and energy and he is only going to get better
