We need a new song , i hate the “hes one of our own” one. Too cockney
I proper hate that chant!

I made this one up once:

“Have you seen him, have you heard?
The way he plays there are no words
He’s our Foden, he’s our Phiiil

Have you seen how he can pass?
He’ll score the first, he’ll score the last
He’s our Foden, he’s our Phiiil”

Id just be happy with ..

one phil foden
Theres only one phil foden

etc

Has to be a long with Kev, the first name on the team sheet. Loved that block that Phil made in our box to deny a Dortmund player in the second half.

He has incredible strength for such a small frame and the frightening thing is he going to get better.

He has one. To the tune "you to me are everything"

won the league at 17
Playing for his boyhood team
Phil Foden, Phil Foden.

He is City born and bred
He'll be a blue until he's dead
Phil Foden, Phil foden

I said a year ago that Phil doesn't play regularly because Pep knows once he puts him in, one of the senior players won't get back in. And that is exactly what has transpired. Foden's talent is on another level to anything I've seen in my lifetime at City.

Nearest in terms of the pureness of it was Michael Johnson. In fact watching Bellingham last night reminded me of Johnson.
I would say Paul Lake was a finer Footballer than Michael Johnson.

There was absolutely nothing Lake couldnt do,being two footed, quick, tricky ,strong in the block tackle, could head a ball, brilliant slide tackle ( those who watched him in the 80s may remember that aspect of his game),scored goals, and had wonderful composure and a graceful playing style, which led to so many mazy dribbling runs from centre midfield..he used to cruise past oppenents with consumate ease.

Johnson bore all the hallmarks of a great central midfield player,i enjoyed watching him play the game in such a composed disciplined manner...

But pure talent wise, Lake was ahead of Johnson ,in my book.

Foden ,i think..is another level,as you have said.
