It's great to see additional swagger creeping into his game of late.

Moments like the dribble after the corner vs. Monchengladbach (plus no look assist), more shooting on sight vs. Everton, etc.

I think he's starting to understand his importance in the team and taking the safety off a little bit.

Clearly he had to get to Bernardo levels of possession football to earn his place initially, but now he's nailed that his natural flair can start to take over in the right moments.

Absolutely love the way he plays.
Bernie and Phil give us energy, dynamism and much needed drive. Both should be in the team nearly every match and in recent weeks they have been, which in my humble opinion is good for the team, it gives us a more balanced and controlled look.

I think you don't have to look much further than what Pep said. He has everything needed to be considered one of the game's true elite players, and all that's missing is the ability to dictate the tempo of games like David Silva did. This can only be developed via experience on the pitch and through an accumulation of games, but it will eventuly come, and when it does, we'll have the best midfielder/attacking forward in the game.

really liked him off the right yesterday cutting in on his left foot ,looks more natural to me on that side and wouldnt be surprised to see him play there for England .
Hes good on the left also and i think thats where hell continue now for the rest of the season for us in the big games .
hes very dynamic though ,can play anywhere across the front really .
Dont think ive ever been more excited about a player, just love watching him play .

Got magic in his boots!

Looks dangerous when he's on the ball, consistently challenges defenders and keepers and takes a half chance early and with some venom behind it when perhaps someone else would stop and overthink it!

One thing, or two things I should say, is that Phil go’s past past players better that Dave did and he is more of a goal threat, Phil has a thunderous shot, as we all know, which Spanish Dave didn’t really have. This is not to have a go at Silva, he was and is a brilliant footballer, but to point out that they are very different players

That's sort of the point I was making: Foden is on another level from a purely attacking point of view, but he doesn't have that ability to control the tempo of a game yet. Another way if putting it is imagine David Silva with the attacking prowess Foden - that could be Foden in a few years.

Like you say that will come.

The ability to control a game won’t come for at least a few seasons.. but I believe it will do. Remember David Silva was playing as a winger even when he was a few years older than Phil.. he didn’t really start to run/dictate games until he was in his mid 20s.

In terms of tools at his disposal.. Foden is physically and naturally far better equipped than Spanish Dave was.. he’s a million miles quicker, better engine, stronger and can shot with Power. Basically if he can learn the game as Dave did, he will become like a thoroughbred version who can control games whilst putting up triple the numbers that Merlin did.

Obviously, there is that Inniesta tag, which is for good reason as there are massive similarities in their dribbling style. For the record, I actually think he is naturally equipped to be a better player than Inniesta for much the same reasons as I wrote about Spanish Dave.

he’s pretty much ceilingless.

Yaya Toure dictated the tempo of most games i saw him play.
With or without Silva.

Statistical update on our €140m rated Star Boy.

2524 minutes. 11 goals. 9 assists. Goal/Assist every 126 minutes.
(Projected pre-season)
3000 minutes. 16 goals. 14 assists.

That was with the anticipation he would play more central than on the wings skewing the stats downward slightly. He's undoubtedly in our best 11 now ahead of Mahrez and Sterling. For reference Sterling gets a contribution every 141 minutes and Mahrez every 162.

Total Stats under Pep.
5735 minutes. 26 goals. 21 assists. Goal/Assist every 122 minutes.

For comparison... KDB under Pep.
16,069 minutes. 48 goals. 91 assists. Goal/Assist every 115 minutes.

Would he start in a CL final over Mahrez or Raheem? I doubt it but the boy is absolutely ready for it.

Just heard on the radio that Lingard starts ahead of him tonight. Think I'll give this one a miss.
