False 9 is easily his worst position. Most his best performances have been from the left. He’s certainly got enough skill and pace to beat fullbacks. Apart from Sterling he’s by far the quickest of the rest in terms of burst of pace off the mark. As a number 8 will be where he eventually becomes the best around. Not a winger. Doesn't have the pace/strength(yet) to consistency get by fullbacks.
Still like him as our 9 despite some average performances there as of late and long term dropping a bit deeper.
To be fair, he setup two great chances from the wing in the first half, including the cross Mahrez should have headed in for our first of the night. Not great tonight. too safe overall, he did have some very nice moments though. great ball through to kdb when he narrowly shot wide, goal was a fluke but you've got to shoot to get that luck, none of our other attackers would shoot there. His pressing which you wouldn't see from Grealish or Sterling led to them giving us back the ball numerous times, not least from the keeper in the first half which mahrez should have buried and the keeper playing a dodgy pass leading to our third. To not play well and still have that kind of impact on the game is a good trait to have.
DeLap has been injured for the majority of the season , and has only returned to fitness in the last month or so , he could be Catalan which is far closer to Pep's heart , but DeLap still wouldnt have played.Maybe if Delap is spanish he would be given a chance to play more.
Yes, too often in the first half he was in a position to take on his man but chose to turn and play the ball back, he's better than that. Not that he was alone, Mahrez was as guilty on the other side. Overall we just didn't move the ball quickly enough in that first half to get behind their defence.not a patch on the player we saw last season. Not saying this is entirely his fault, but big drop off in terms of productivity and effectiveness. Playing far too safe for me.

He's such a miserable git, rarely has anything positive to sayNot the pace? He's very quick.
As for strength, whilst he is not Ibrahamovich, he does not get thrown around like a rag doll. Can you name all these much stronger wingers?
As for going past people, he is brilliant at it.
It's as if you have just described another player.
I think Phil is a fantastic player. I just don't see him long term out on the wing. That's all. He's such a miserable git, rarely has anything positive to say
