I think so. For the first half an hour he was stuck on the wing, he needed to move inside the pitch, which he did and played a part in the first goal with a nice flick on. I really think his talent is wasted for so long in the match, sat on the left wing.

Yep and it’s not just city fans saying that, I watched it with an arsenal and 2 Chelsea fans and they absolutely love him and say he should be playing central

The biggest compliment you can give him is that he could play in any club or International side in the world and not look one bit out of place.

Like others have said, he was wasted out wide left in the first 30 mins - he needs to be on the ball as much as possible in this England team. He will only get better the more he plays. We are so lucky to have him in blue.

I'm not arsed how he plays for England, and I've seen him have far better games than tonight.

I do agree that the more he is on the ball the better, whoever he plays for, and we are very lucky he is a blue.

The first time passes were a thing of beauty, not just the goal involvements either. Time after time the ball was being played into him when surrounded by two / three players and he was just popping the pass out with ease. There isn’t another player in that squad who can do what our Phil can do. Involved in 5 of the last 6 goals.
