Can understand why people (including myself) are frustrated with him for not squaring it to Haaland. Despite that he put in a decent performance, a goal and an assist. Just a case of realising that whenever he gets played through the ball to Haaland will be on nine times out of ten. It's been a little over a month of them training together let alone playing games alongside each other.

Look back over the past year. His goal today went straight at the keeper after missing a great chance earlier. He needs to improve his output from the left hand side, Sane was phenomenal at those far corner strikes and Foden seems to drag/scoff those shots.
Sane is now looking at another transfer away from a big club where he is failing to deliver

Foden has made the shot across the keeper from the left (and right) side his preferred option, especially with his almost no look finish each time. Sane scored a few also but I think the one against the scousers is clouding some judgement here. Several examples in here,

He should have squared it to haaland but it was a split second decision. Not like he'd ran through with space and time to think about it. He's doing absolutely fine, just a little bit of patience is required until he hits top form again (most likely)

He's scored a few but he's also missed a few big ones. Against Madrid, United, Liverpool, Dortmund, PSG for example I remember big misses. He needs to own that shot - he needs to be hitting double league goals.

He should have squared it in hindsight but if you watch the whole sequence, kdb shot, it was fortunate to fall to Foden, he wasn't expecting it and I don't think he's had a chance to have a look. He's just taken a snapshot from a fortuitous ball which was probably the right thing to do in that split second. The instinct to know Haaland will be there isn't there yet, that will come. No problem with that today, scored was a real live wire buzzing around, Pep just has to stop moving him around, play him, kdb and Haaland in their best positions and fit the rest around them.
