Is he a better suited replacement for Gundogan or KDB when they end up leaving?

Well in the past if Kev got injured, Pep would have shifted Bernie into the middle and put Phil or Mahrez onto the right. Recently Phil has been playing almost exclusively in the 8/10 role of the 2 you mention.. it remains to be seen with transfer window ect, sign are good though as know many have wanted this for years. Think he would have cemented the position if he put that chance away last night.

Took his chance on the world stage. Great player.

Grew into the game as he go. The turn and dribble into the box was gorgeous. Should be our long term solution to KdB's position.

Shame he tried to place the ball. If he had put his foot through it and aimed higher that would have been one of the CL finals greatest goals. He does stuff that others can’t.

Big season I feel for Phil coming up. Felt like he never really got fully going this season with dips in form, injuries and so on. He showed in that final what he can do in the middle and needs an extended run in the side and really cement a place and a position. Seems crazy to say it considering we won the treble, but it feels like he had a really bit part season and he’s too good for that again.
