Ahem. Some of the takes on this thread after two games and no pre-season are going to look comical by Christmas.

Goals with first touch are so hard. You need to understand geometry, angles, your body, everything…
This boy Foden is really no joke.
This skinny guy is the only skinny short boy I want on my team. This kid is fucking ruthless. Born from the less priveleged parts of Manchester so he was born not a little wimp. Born a male human with two potent grapes, not born a sucker meaning dumb bad player.
Protect Phil from bad media scrutiny at all costs, and u will have a player that will die for Manchester city until he retires at 43 a beefy, “been to the the gym 25 years - multiple full decades b… don’t play w me like other midfielders in country and in Prem league ”
Just saw that on MotD, that's an astonishing run to get on the end of that pass. Incredible finishing for all 3.Look where he started sprinting from for his second. That's what Pep was talking about after the Sevilla match about always putting a shift in despite not being at his best. Sancho is on the opposite end of that spectrum in that regard.
Why does Foden scoring 1st touch goals remind you of David Silva? The way he always cleanly directs his first touch goals reminds sooooo much of the player who took a young Phil Foden under his wing — David Silva.
Sensational talent.
Easily imo, maybe a lot more.Think he'll be close to 20 league goals this season, seems to have more of an eye for goal.
Phil’s back.
He needs to play on the right with KDB regularly and develop that understanding with him, when to pause, when to pass, who goes on the overlap. Jack and Bernardo on the left the same. That looks like our best midfield at the moment with Rodri and Haaland at the back and in front of them.
Yep. As much as I love Merlin, scoring goals wasn't close to being his main attribute. Why does Foden scoring 1st touch goals remind you of David Silva?
There is little similar about the two players goal scoring wise.imo
Fodens fantastic back heel finish with his ' weaker' right foot at wolves is in perfect example of Fodens unique talent.
Yesterday he scored ..2 with his left one with his right..,from the right, left and centre of the 6 yard box.awesome
. his movement consistency and confidence in scoring with either foot from any position makes Foden unique .a completely different case to David Silva.
Silva with Foden's finishing would be (close to) Messi.Yep. As much as I love Merlin, scoring goals wasn't close to being his main attribute.
Foden was incredible yesterday and my man of the match, which is some going when you consider how well Haaland played. He was all over the pitch and put in a serious shift in defence as well as in attack.
Very true. Foden is amazing, but not at silvas level (yet). Dave was the best tempo player I’ve seen in a blue shirt. He controlled games on his own. Knew when to speed it up, slow it down. (I sound like Buck’s Fizz - for you older lot). I think Phil can get there though. Generational talent and we have 3 of em!Silva with Foden's finishing would be (close to) Messi.
