Every England team has a scape goat. Sadly it’s Foden this time round. Get him back at the blues with a proper manager

Who’s actually scapegoating him then? He’s had a higher player rating than Kane, Bellingham and Saka in the last two matches on most websites, and most pundits want to see him playing as a number 10.

When you have layer upon layer of defence, athletic opponents with stamina for ninety mins yer need someone like Foden who will take on and try to beat an opponent in order to breach one of the layers. The minute he comes off the wasteland of the wing and into the acreage belonging to a Number 10 it's pretty clear how good he is! When is Southgate gonna realise!

If he didn't move too quickly, he would have had an assist yesterday, wasn't completely down to him though, as the Kane the Snail took an hour to put that long pass in to Phil.

Foden needs to play number 10 role for England put bellend next to Rice palmer on the right and Gordon on the left.

Foden is used to quick service so he can pounce and create openings at City. England’s approach is so slow and ponderous it is little wonder he got caught offside a couple of times. Similarly, he put a ball through to Kane which could have been a 1-2 or a shot for Kane, but Harry got his legs tangled up. Kane looks a shadow of his former self

He was one of the brighter spots of a dire attack. England would've had nothing without his set-piece deliveries or desire to create something.
