It wasn't his best game but I thought he looked far better in the first half through the middle than in the second when he went out to the right wing.

Didn’t play poorly by any stretch but feel as if he’s become a victim of his own versatility a bit. Can play left, 10 and right but just hasn’t locked one position down.

LW - Grealish preferred last year + now just signed Doku‬.

‪10 - KDB’s spot + Pep clearly likes Alvarez there‬ who’s started the season productively.

‪RW - Bernardo who is Pep’s favourite player

Want nothing more than to see him become the “man” but there’s fierce competition so will be interesting to see how it unfolds as the season goes on!

Wasnt bad by any means just wasn't the game for him. He can't operate in the space in-between when they set up to make sure there isn't any. They left the wings wide open and closed the central space where he was asked to play. Even so, he still managed to get in some really nice positions and looked a threat on the few occasions we got it through to him. No issues with Phils performance today.

I thought he was one of our better players in the first half. Not so much in the second. I think he'll be disappointed with his performance given Waistcoat was in attendance.

Took a couple of knocks in that second half and was probably kept on 10-15 minutes longer than would have been ideal. Alas, the lack of depth on our current bench (or trust therein) is a factor on such occasions. It’s also noticeable that he struggled to make the ground up when he was forced to track back a couple of times. He’s a joy to watch in an attacking sense, but until he builds his physique and stamina (still looks coltish), the defensive demands of central midfield will continue to test him.

Southgate was in the stand tonight , and Foden was excellent recieving the ball and driving forward in the middle of the park , only a prick like waistcoat can believe Phil cannot play centrally , if Foden was a Brazilian the national would be bult around him , but he's English and they have a dickhead for a coach.

Far from Phil's sparkling best but did provide an assist and a couple of decent attempts.
