I’d say overall he has been pretty consistent this season and been one of our better players. All of our players disappear in games at times - Haaland this season for instance.

The expectation levels with foden are sometimes through the roof and if he doesn’t get motm he doesn’t seem to get as much praise. I’m finding some of the criticism on here unfair
All of our players don't disappear in games and hence we have won the title 3 years on the bounce.

Haaland has had a poor start by his huge standard's, but games like Wolves last week are the ones Foden needs to start bossing.

Because when some players disappear, others step up. That's how it works.

Rodri is by far our most consistent player and even he gets completely bypassed from time to time. Kev goes completely missing (or worse) for some games. Gundo was completely ineffective at times. Bernardo has had periods where he doesn't do anything other than scuttling around. Grealish is frequently a non-entity. Doku has had an inconsistent start. Mahrez wasn't always effective. Aguero went missing every now and then.

That's football. And I feel like you know this.

We had several players missing at Wolves, senior vital players, it's for the likes' of Foden to step up in situations like that, he is experienced enough now, he should be dictating games like that with the huge talent he is.

I agree with the gist of what you're saying but I also feel like some tend to focus way too much on the odd flat game when there are far more performances like last night.

Excellent last night and he often is but if he wants to become a great player he has to dictate games far more and far more consistently.

He for me is the most gifted player we have ever produced, I want to see him become a footballing great.

He is always just a half a second away from scoring the best goal of his life. Honestly its insane how he does 99% of the work but its sometimes that last bit that gets away, I am sure he will get more consistent!

Noticed a bit of maturity in his game recently.

Particularly when he gets the ball as part of a triangle in midfield, back to goal he used to play it first time and majority it’d be a skewed pass and a turnover of possession. Now he takes a touch and composes himself.

A tiny detail that Pep will probably love because it’s the control he’s been after from Foden for years rather than everything at 100mph.

I get what you mean, but that’s why we have a squad and why I said ‘at times’. So when players ‘disappear’ others step up. I don’t think we have any players who are world class/ motm every game. Even de Bruyne goes missing at times.

The wolves game no one played well. If he’s brilliant 6/7 games that’s what we should be judging him on. He has bossed quite a few games this season already.

Looked good last night when he only had to focus on the centre. Pep needs to find a way for him and Alvarez to play without Phil having to be wide and central
