Should be offering more and being more consistent.

That Newcastle game at home feels like a false dawn at the moment rather than the beginning of a new one.

Couldn’t agree more. He’s never gonna get a better opportunity to show himself. Atm he’s just not grasping it. We can’t talk about his age/experience anymore. He’s at this level he needs to show now he belongs here.

Love the guy but imo he has the talent to be so much more than he is at present.

Only attacking player in the first half doing anything positive but drifted as the game went on.

I worry that his ability starts and ends at a few decent dribbles. A player in his position needs end product and not just being easy on the eye - needs to be upping his numbers IMO.

Grealish offers control and that’s his counterweight to low numbers but Foden is all about attacking and without genuine output in goals/assists I’m not sure there’s a place.

Nothing wrong with Foden.
He was a cog in a movement that worked wonderfully. Now he is being suddenly asked to be the main man as no one up front has a clue at the minute.

Maybe he's just not as good as we think? He's clearly very good, but he's not the player we thought he'd be by now. Alvarez has come in and delivers significantly more than Phil, who seems to look very lightweight all of a sudden - pretty sure he wasn't as easy to knock off the ball 18 months ago

Yeah, not giving up yet but beginning to think it could be a possibility.

Yeah Phil wasn't an issue today, put a masisve shift in off the ball, tackles interceptions, clearances and winning headers vs Ben White. Then also completed most dribbles and created most chances for us
Feel he's a victim of his own adaptability at times..Dont think he really wants to play on the left. Was asked in recent city video(players reacting to fifa ratings) his favourite positions and he said Rw and Cam.
