47 | Phil Foden - 2024/25

Guess he isn't over the disappointment in the Euros. He'll be back to his normal self in a month or two. Needs several goals and the joy from scoring and performing well.

I felt it was more of a match sharpness he was lacking. Got in some good positions and had a few opportunities to score but the efforts were well blocked. He's come in off the back of an extended rest, so his performances are always going to be down on his usual standards. He was bright and getting involved a lot. Nothing to be concerned about.

Didn't seem like he was at his 100%. I miss the old maestro Foden, just rewatched this video today, him 2 years ago could do everything and would be perfect for our current midfielder role.

Do you mean the one from last season who was arguably our best player?
Yeah he was our best player and the best player in the premier league last season. just saying I miss the old Foden and the team right now really need someone to step up to that midfielder role, and I think the old Foden could be the perfect one. Still, if he could play like the last season from now on, it would be great too.

I think he just needs more game time to get back his match fitness and sharpness.

It's not an injury or illness.

I've heard the Club are really worried about Phil's mental health, could be absolute bollocks hopefully, I'm worried for our local talisman, I'll say no more but others may have more info.

I posted this on the 1st September but didn't say what it was.
As Hammo posted his message on the arsenal post match thread, I'll say that this is what it was referring to. ( I didn't want to be the first to say it and start a rumour).
And big part of it is England and Euros related apparently.

He didn’t get going till round about this time last season.
He does look out of sorts though.
Hopefully he hits form at the weekend.

I could swear 2 years Ago people said he wasn’t ready to play inside but now he apparently was ready all the time?

He'll get it right. Maybe there is something going on. Maybe his body just needs a rest. He's been doing this, since a young age, for a long time now.
We really don't want to see lad burnt out before his late 20's.
