The amount of abuse him and Kane got during the Euros was uncalled for. It probably affected them both considering they, along with "Jude" were considered our three world class players.

It was a perfect season to prove the critics wrong, but that Rodri injury and the defensive balls ups every week aren't helping.

When everyone is playing poorly around you, it takes character to keep plugging away. You see this with lower league teams who have to show character week in week out with bad performances around them.

That third goal though, i couldn't work out if he was knackered or simply gave up altogether. The desire seems to have subsided.

I always feel that when City play well, he plays fantastic. Sometimes in seasons gone by when they needed a get out jail card he was the man.

Fella deserves a break in my opinion, I'm not a City fan so what do i know. He needs to get back his confidence and desire

I’m wracking my brain, but a few years back I’m sure I read that Pep thought Phil was better than Messi at the same age …. can anyone confirm this?

Last season he peaked by winning the PotS and I foolishly thought he’d go on and smash the Euros. He stank the place out, but again I blamed that on Southgate being Southgate.

This season he’s gone backwards and looks a shadow of the player he once was? Last night when you’re hoping for something special (like Mbappe produced) he disappeared completely.

3 kids at 24 when he still looks like one himself, could that be a reason? Will he get back to anything like his former levels … I hope I’m wrong, but I’m not so sure he will.

He’s never been fit to put in the same sentence as Messi at any age(not disputing he once looked like being world class).

Another on the way.

I can see him trying to out do Tyson on the pan lids / reality TV front.

Appallingly bad this season, but he took not being arsed to a different level last night, he needs to sort himself out or move on.

On track to be the next Deli Ali if he doesn't sort his shit out. Pep has had to play him this season due to the lack or alternatives, however after the summer transfer window he will be lucky to get any sub appearances next season if he doesn't improve.

A player at the crossroads for me in terms of his longevity with us and even his long term future at elite level in the game.

Age 24, already 6 PL titles and a Champions league, Player of the season and England International, living the millionaire lifestyle, has he still the desire to get even better and go again?

Not knocking the lad but he looks like a player that has lost a little love of the game and hence motivation.

Bloody hell guys. I'll be the first to admit Phil has been pretty awful lately, but he's a city fan FFS. Those saying he just can't be arsed are way off the mark. This is his club, there may be background reasons to his poor form but that isn't one of them.

Problem is he's not alone

I think the boring sideways no risk football is what's making a few of the team fall out of love with the game.

I also understand why, 3 games a week and incredible demands and expectation is not easy.

Hence why some major decisions are in the pipeline for many players, not just Foden.

Yes, however a lot of this squad are used to it and know what is needed, but if they don't try.....
