5 home games 21/22 to be able to buy a ticket for United game !?

This is a bit weird. I had a gold ST last year. This year I opted for a silver (I know, I know) and a seat upgrade.
The silver ST cost me £490 against a gold price of £845. The difference is £355, an average of £71 for the extra five games.
I have just bought my seat for the Liverpool and United games and they cost me £63 each. The other three games seem to be priced the same. Buying the five additional games would have cost me £315 ( 5 x £63) against £355 (£845 - £490) for the difference between the silver and gold ST.
Buying the silver and the 5 games separately is £40 cheaper than buying the gold. Obviously, you can't spread the cost over 10 months.
What am I missing?

Missus has just bought tickets for the big 6 games (we’ve got Silvers) and she said prices where from £63 per adult & £40 for a child (he’s 17) all over the ground, rising to £80 for CB2 and possibly higher, she didn’t know family stand prices, £5 was knocked off the price for membership, reducing them slightly, but it’s been an expensive one. She said it was a nightmare trying to process tickets, kept crashing & wouldn’t let her select child price for tickets so she paid adult & will argue toss later, god knows what tomorrow is gonna be like, oh and there was plenty of availability in some blocks, especially the family stand. If anybody wants a screenshot of a certain block let me know

Am I getting this right? People with silver season tickets are being offered the bigger games already?

So when they go on sale to members tomorrow, there'll be hardly any left?

It’s a 24hr window, there’s plenty left for the big games looking at a few blocks, your issue won’t be silvers getting in first as there isn’t that many, it’ll be the absolute scrum down tomorrow morning (if it’s anything like buying a SC) my advice is get on the internet & phone tomorrow and double your chances

There’s only about 500-750 silver season ticket still be 8k ish tickets for sale don’t worry

There’s only a handful of silvers apparently (c. 1000) but as it seems to be cheaper to buy a Silver plus then add on the missing 5 games than just charge for a Gold, I’m struggling to follow the club’s logic here. Either way there should be a fair few left for the hoi-polloi pile-in tomorrow.

On your marks…

Just had my confirmation email for the two games. They only cost me £60 each, making the saving £55 (£355 - £300)

Think that's just an anomaly. For the cheapest on Silver it was about £15 per game as opposed to almost £20 for Gold. £205 Silver/£350 Gold. In that respect a Gold gets those 5 games at £30 over a Silver holder.
Those on Silver buying the 5 additional games in this section at £63 are paying £520 for what it would cost for a £350 Gold season ticket. Obviously more if they have to purchase an £80 seat.
Imagine the other areas are similar, perhaps not as extreme.

£350 isn’t an average price though, it’s very low.

That’s right. As when city offered the god awful silver it was on the promise of having priority to the remaining 5 games. There isn’t that many silver though around 1000 or so.

I know mate but I imagine it's opposite ends of the scale. Without working it all out the average profit for the club from doing this is probably somewhere in the middle of the two examples. That's if it isn't utilised as a hospitality ticket which will obviously command a much higher profit.

That is an anomaly as the they have made the low demand third tier seats cheaper for silver and in some cases a lot cheaper for the front row in the wings of the east and west stands.

Looking at other seats the clubs makes money, the median is close to SSL price, for which the club benefits ,marginally, but for the cheapest seats they almost double their money.

The club clearly don't want people just picking and choosing 1 or 2 big games.

Presumably wanting to gauge how much demand there is ahead of a potential North Stand expansion, that and keeping away fans out of the home end.

Silver ST and now this.

If you are local there's definitely ways around it, sharing supports no's etc, maybe not so easy for the people who struggle with tech.

If you are from out of the country or the other end of England your best bet is a supporters club.

BTW last season tickets were still available for the biggest two fixtures well into September last year and less people will qualify due to the 5 games rule, so maybe no need to panic tomorrow, although don’t take my word for it.

You’re correct. Although last years criteria of ‘previously attend 3 games’ was still active until I managed to get an exchange ticket a few weeks before the game. I’m not sure if they ever removed/lowered the criteria.
