He does a good enough emergency job but he's not a right back. He's being over praised because he's putting in some good performances in an unfamiliar position and rightly so but it's not a real option for us and should only be used as an emergency. centre back or bench unless we have no other proper options.

Dias for me was a bit shaky again, doesn't seem as assured and committing needless fouls all game too. laporte was solid and covered cancelo well I think it's time for stones to come in for Dias.

Stones and Ake to play against Peterborough and Sporting and so long as he performs he keeps his place after Sporting.

It's been 6 years since club bought him and we are still finding out how technically gifted and amazing player he is.

Being a center-back and playing Full Back like a pro is quite a rare thing..

Fantastic <3

United put on a very decent press first half, players like walker and Rodri struggled to play around it so quickly passed the ball on square, it was almost always Stones that played the ball that broke that press and got us up the pitch. A few iffy balls were inevitable considering he's been on the sidelines for a while but generally he was exceptional at it and a huge reason why United's plan had no chance of succeeding. With dias in there instead, we struggle to get out first half. Brilliant.

Some of his passing through their press was lovely. There was one lofted reverse pass to Walker with his left foot that took their entire press completely out of the game
Was going to mention that exact pass, it was the fact he turned back in and away from the pass out to the wing but still had the calmness, vision and ability to dink it with his weak foot when you think he's not seen it and is going to switch the ball to the left that made it all the more impressive.

Yeah. Laporte played a few iffy ones too but they soon ran out of steam and I don’t remember them creating one chance off their back. Every chance they had and there weren’t many started with a wayward pass or trying to take one touch too many from us. That last 15 mins were a joy, same as at the swamp.
