Wounded he's injured again - seemingly innocuously too. One of my favourite players to watch and think the team improves so much, both attacking and defending wise, when he's in it.

The CB pairing is so important..Stones is a great player but his injury record is poor..was looking on Wiki..in 6 years averages 21 games a season..Oh for Doyle and Watson.

Some players just seem destined to be injured the vast majority of their careers. Stones is one Ake and Phillips appear to be two others. Unfortunately all three are here.

Truly believe Stones would have been considered one of the best defenders in europe for the past few years but his injury woes mean he isnt even in the top twenty , this lad just cannot stay fit he has muscle injuries almost on a monthly basis. Much as i admire him as a player its about time we cut our losses beacsue having a brilliant defender out of action for 50% of his career is a luxury not many clubs would accept
He's been a great servant but maybe a move to a less competitve european league would extend his career , no axe to grind with Stones he's been a good signing but we need a centre back who doesnt spend half his career on the treatment table and is able to form a regular top class centre back partnership.
