Perhaps his body isn`t suited to play a CB/DM/CM pivot or he has to train differently in the gym/on the pitch to strenghten other muscles. Compared to a "natural/pure" CB you have to cover more ground & doing different movements. If it`s something with his hip then he should do an operation. When you look at his injury history then since last fall his injury record is really bad (missed 23 games) & similar to 2019. But something has to change. The pattern since last fall is not sustainable for him & the club.
How did you know his last injury was a fall?

I suppose some extra weight is being put on Chelsea being at home. We saw how that turned out for the Rags. Anybody coming to the Etihad is a big dog these days,,,Liverpool, Arsenal, Bayern, Real...anybody.
Yep, I'm a betting trader and home advantage will add around 10-20% of "x" chances of winning as oppose to playing the same fixture away-which is why I said Chelsea is a "big" Game.
Given our our current undefeated home streak (23 games) more weight is added to our chances of not losing when playing at home which is why we are shorter against Liverpool than Chelsea.
Your point of how it worked out for the Rags is a mute one, look how being 2/5 to beat Wolves worked out for us!

I've spent many years in that realm, for what it's worth. Anytime City lose a game at this point it's a bad wager in terms of risk/reward. I was speaking strictly from a footballing point of view that I don't see this current Chelsea squad as being a big game. To clarify, in terms of the table it's "big". In terms of needing Stones to beat them not so much.

How much would you say Stones' being out impacts the odds? I'm asking

because I'm genuinely curious. (Not being a wise guy, lol)

Very little, if at all.
If your taking standard odds any bet is a bad wager. We're offering you true odds minus our 10% overround. The only way to profit from gambling is to only take value bets, that value might come in the form of a boost that takes the odds above true odds, a free bet for placing the cash bet, an arb where we have missed cutting the odds in line with the market etc.

Need him healthy. He’s the glue.
That's the drawback of playing a system with a specialist position that can only be performed to a high standard by one player in the squad when said player is incredibly injury prone.
