When you work with a small squad, you have to have durable players, otherwise the impact is far greater, not only on missing him but the extra stress it puts on others. Something has to give, we either build a bigger squad or we have to (regrettably) start being a bit more ruthless and let the likes of Stones, Walker and I hate to say it but Kev go.

We aren't going to get money for him in the summer. Better off keeping him in the squad and then move him on. I think his time at City may be coming to an end. It’s a great shame but we cannot have a player who spends more time on the treatment table than on the team sheet. He is such a terrific player when he’s fit however, over the years we know how much time he’s been out injured and now is the time we need our players fit and strong because it’s about rebuilding a squad for the next push.You tell them Sheila.
I have just written that his time may be coming to an end at City, but you may have a point. I’m not sure of any team who will take a punt on him knowing his injury record. Even on a free, his wages will be high.Yes. No team is going to pay money for him with the injury concerns. Still a very useful player to have around. We aren't going move too many seniors at once

I understand and appreciate that. I was very, very, very annoyed and angry at the remarks by the two people I insulted because they did not even try to acknowledge what you are saying, they just insulted and derided a player who is injured in an derogatory manner and I saw red. There are ways of saying things and that sort of insulting remarks is not worthy of a City fan about a hardworking injury struck player.
He did not go out and injure himself deliberately.

I accept that his time with us is coming to an inevitable end based upon being unable to remain fit.
And I guess that Eccles Blue knows that too although she won't want that day to arrive.
A wonderful and classy player, as is KDB , but they are both unlikely to be playing for us for very much longer.
Hard for Sheila and every one of John's fans to watch knowing what is round the corner .
One of my favourite players from this era for the way he fought for his place back when it looked like he was being sold to West Ham/Wolves (not to mention his performance in Istanbul), but I do think his injury record means this contract will be his last at the club. In eight seasons he's only played more than 30 games in all competitions in four of them, bearing in mind we regularly play 60 I'm afraid he can't be relied on any more, certainly as a key member of that back four.
Would love to be proved wrong.
