If I was called White Trash is that racist or a description

I'd say it was a racist term.

Just the same as calling someone a daft black ****, no need for the black

Is using Paki/Black more offensive than Jock , Brit or Paddy and if so why? because it's about time it wasn't.

You have to look at it the other way - I've been called a Paki/Black xxxx lots in my life.
I take offence and don't agree with it. Back in the 70's & 80's it was aimed in a vicious way -

Do the Scottish, Irish or British in general take offence - and is it said in an offensive way

I think people are forgetting there's a difference between race and nationality.
Not in the eyes of race law Bob no.

Calling someone a French twat or black twat carries the same punishment.

A racial group means a group of persons defined by reference to race, colour, nationality (including citizenship) or ethnic or national origins. The definition is wide and victims may come within the definition under more than one of the references.

It's a fucking idiotic law.

Out of interest, why do you think the law is 'idiotic'?
Because very soon calling someone a prat or hitting feelings in any way will be illegal.

Racism has lost all meaning now.

-- Mon Dec 10, 2012 3:46 pm --

All they have to do now is say they do and in the eyes of the law, an offence has been committed.

As I say, it's a fucking joke and has diluted the nature of what is classed as racism. Technically, if you called Edin a "lazy Bosnian cart horse", your fellow fans could now report you and you would be up for a racially aggravated public order offence.

Someone called Howard a "yank c*nt" last week, suppose he may have done it himself but next time they're going to jail

It doesn't matter how stupid it sounds but if you use nationality as part of a pejorative then the law states it can be deemed racism if anyone takes offence. Not just the person you said it to but anyone that hears it.

I don't think so mate no. Shortening Scottish to Scots is not the same as Pakistani to Paki. But if you called him a Scottish **** then you could end up I'm trouble.

Don't think I'm agreeing that the law is anything other than an arse on this matter either. Totally diluted racism as I've said a few times.
