It is heartening to see that our nation has now reached such an elevated point of advancement that the term 'black twat' is now widely accepted in polite society.

It's not widely accepted, but calling someone a "twat" isn't such a bad thing..

I'm sorry but "black twat" may be worthy of a ban letter , or even a polite conversation asking him to leave . Arresting someone in front of their kids over it is pretty terrible. He didn't try and harm the guy, didn't round up some pals to lynch him, he said something pretty stupid , I agree, but just seems a little drastic. Yes he should have known better, yes it was dumb to do in front of his kids but anyone that has kids has done something that sets a terrible example for them.

The last three are actually 'RACIST' . Being Black is NOT a race issue, but a colour issue. The law makers seem to be tying themselves and us into the most confusing big knot. Better off going to the game and keeping your gob shut per se.

Xenophobia and racism are very tight together, are the Scots and Welsh a race? Or part of the British race.

Either way any racist deserves the book thrown at them, not the John Terry punishment

To be fair two little girls should not be hearing their father calling someone a 'black twat'. If that is what he said, and he got caught, he deserves everything he gets.

Right , and I'm not saying it is this way but in my life experience I've found that if the leader of a family is the "type" to bring his kids in public and do something stupid like that, they are the families least equipped to deal with the possible consequences of it.

to be fair he is not excusing it he is trying to see it rationally , do you not give a shit about his 2 little girls feelings , no he should not have said it , but he did , and to put those kids through that , is wrong there are ways of doing things and that was not the correct way , thrown out , yes . arrested , maybe , but dragging him out infront of his 2 little kids harms them and they were innocent in all this

Got to say, my bro was up and ready to have it out and smash him, but I pulled him back and told him to think of his kids.

The fella knew he had done wrong, there was a very awkward silence and he was turning red in the face and could feel the eyes burning in to him.

Do I think he's a racist, not really. Your typical mid-40s middle class average Joe, certainly no knuckle dragger.

Certainly a racist comment and if I'm honest, I didn't know the best course of action, in terms of even reporting it.

I was shocked, which I suppose it a good thing, because in my three decades going to watch the blues I can count on two fingers hearing something like this.

What made it worse was the police did not witness it, the stewards did not witness it.

The father went to the back of the block at half-time, asked my a steward.

What became apparent to everybody, including his little girls, was their dad was not coming back, as you can imagine, a pretty traumatic experience.

Credit must go to blues who did do the right thing, but also to the female fans who came to console the girls and calm them down.

At no stage did a steward or a police officer concern themselves with the fall out.

Sympathy with the daughters for sure but more because of the father they have.No sympathy for him at all.
