He’s much stronger and physical than he looks, has no problems holding his own against lower league bruisers.
Bang on. The timing and understanding was right on pointAn example of his high football IQ is how long he holds onto the ball before releasing KDB for the cross into Doku.
The extra second gave KDB the space he needed.
There was some truth to it when we had Sunderland and Stoke in the PL. Moyes's Everton were also leg bruisers to some extent. The lower league bruisers thing is a bit of a myth
I've heard lower league players say when they first went into a game vs top flight players, they thought they'd be able to be physical with them and bully them and it turned out that these top flight players were very strong and physical and they couldnt really match them physically like they expected. It makes sense really, these are elite athletes that work with the best strength and conditioning coaches every day.
Absolutely - There was that Port Vale striker, Tom Pope, who had said he'd score 40 goals a season if he played John Stone every week. The lower league bruisers thing is a bit of a myth

I don't think Gundo or Mahrez would have started on this team Their peak version, maybe. But the current 32 and 33 year old versions of them simply wouldn't beat out Phil, Bernado (and as it's looking.. perhaps even Bobb). We are, imo, a weaker team this year buy losing the experiance and mentality of Mahrez and Gundogan, two world class players who knew how to control the game and come in clutch when we needed a pick me up
But the short term weakness has given this kid, who is spectacular, an opportunity...well moreso the opportunity has goen to greater involvement for Foden/Alvarez but Bobb has taken their place on the bench
I love the way this guy plays football, he just makes everything look easy and effortless
