They targeted winning the Champions League as a big part of their global strategy and even if City can't win it this year they have to get at least to the semi-finals after the failues of last two years. They'll have told Pellegrini at the start of the season what the prioritie are. I'd take the domestic treble anytime over a CL cup, but i'm not the one spending a billion.

Having thought about it, we should throw this game. The FA can't complain about English clubs' performance in the Champions' League and then put us on the Sunday afternoon. Well, they can because they just did - but our squad is currently threadbare and they're expecting us to play three massive games in seven days? Nope, not happening. There's nothing stopping the FA from putting Watford vs Leeds on the Sunday afternoon and giving City a day extra to fly to fucking Ukraine. As I've already said, the FA reckon English clubs aren't doing well enough in Europe but are only willing to give a squad that's ravaged by injury two days to prepare for a Champions' League knockout game. Obviously I'd like to beat Chelsea because I love the FA Cup but I can wait another year if it means we win the title and the League Cup at its expense. I'd honestly go with the following team just to expose the TV schedule for what it is:

Sagna - Humphreys - Demichelis - Angelino
Fernando - Delph
Celina
Sterling - Kelechi - Barker
Hart, Zabaleta, Otamendi, Fernandinho, Bytiqi, Garcia, Aguero.

Then pick a completely different starting 11 for Chelsea. If we lose 6-0 fine, they made a mockery of their own competition, we are just fulfilling the fixture. Pellers without doubt knows CL comes first. We need to do well in kiev and win the league cup. Sod the FA.

Yea. The one of the BBC wanting to show the best game in the scheduled slot. They have the choice of games and when to show it. This isn't down to the FA outside of them selling the rights without protecting clubs from this kind of crap.
Both clubs should field youth teams to devalue the match for the BBC and we shouldn't watch it either live or on TV.
