5th Round - confirmed Sunday 4pm kick off

In this scenario I don't think we could have complained because the original scheduling would have been Saturday without the TV companies getting involved. If anything Friday would then have been a bonus because in that scenario either us or Chelsea would have lost out. However in the current scenario, Saturday would have been slap bang in the middle for both clubs.

So the recovery period is the same now as if we'd been in Kiev on Tuesday night and been playing on Saturday.

Yes i'd say so but we wouldn't have any area for complaints whereas right now there is a far better solution for all involved. We're becoming a victim of our own success being in 4 competitions is going to reduce rest time no matter what.

You would think we have been the only club screwed by tv companies in a pre european game.Happens every season and will happen again after this game.
When do tickets go on sale for this.

We should as fans completely boycott this game it would appear Chelsea requested sunday and got it.
The Fa and Chelsea are to both to blame so let the kids play and let them stuff their tickets up their arse.
And play right in to their hands?. They want us out to save the rags season. They want us to play the kids.

There is no point in suggesting there is agenda against us. This has gone on for years against other clubs. Yes it is wrong we have to play the game on Sunday. Yes it will totally screw us over. And yes Chelski will probably beat us. But fuck it, we need to man up and realise we are a big club now and take all that comes with that. Maybe contraversial but I'd play the kids in the champions league and the best team in the fa cup because we aint gonna win the champions league anyway but I do feel we could make history and win the domestic treble.

I don't think our owners expect us to win the CL this season. What they want is CL credibility, for us to progress to the QF or SF stages and get rid of our tag of CL under achievers. It would represent another step forward in how the club is viewed around the world. I think the club would put that ahead of an FA Cup win and would regard defeat to Kiev as a major setback.

I expect the club has mixed feelings about the scheduling of the Chelsea game. Definitely annoyance that the FA sided with Chelsea, hence the formal protest. Who wants to be regarded as a soft touch? At the same time there'll be a sense of relief that the FA have given us an excuse to play the kids, something we would probably have done anyhow, even if the game were to be played on the Friday. Manuel's comments about how further progression in the FA Cup would result in PL postponements let the cat out of the bag as to how the club feel about the FA cup.

I think we should support our team in big numbers. Back our young lads to the max. It would be fantastic for them.

You're right, of course, there was an opportunity to help us and if it was Swampies, Dippers, Gooners or Chavs they would have been falling over themselves to give them an advantage.
Instead we're City and the national association and the national broadcaster put the boot it. Rise above it blues.

The owners won't have that. They targeted winning the Champions League as a big part of their global strategy and even if City can't win it this year they have to get at least to the semi-finals after the failues of last two years. They'll have told Pellegrini at the start of the season what the prioritie are. I'd take the domestic treble anytime over a CL cup, but i'm not the one spending a billion.
Trillion, get it right!
