if we win something next year COMS will be sold out, what happens to season ticket holders in the North when as the club put it "do not qualify" for the family stand, this is a shit idea, to have the entire North stand as a family stand has been dreamt up by a wanker of the highest order.

As somebody with a degree in business management this is what they have done, they have studied the stats from all home games.
1. There are currently kids in all 4 sides of the stadium with season tickets.
2. They struggle to sell the third tiers with the exception of Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool. This creates huge hassle for the ticket office when trying to sell tickets up in the gods.
3. Force all people with kids into the North with the incentive of cheap seats for kids.
4. Force all adults without kids in the North to "other" area's , which will see the third tier sold out for all games.

Do not let anybody kid you that this is to enhance atmosphere, this is a business minded decision, based on statistical analysis.

I agree totally with you, when you say it has been based on statistical analysis, and tbh I think it could backfire on them if people are not incentivised to move in there.

However the club do hold back seats that are non ST seats so incase of demand going up because we win something they can utilise these seats for people who are displaced.

I would also wager imo, using your statistical analysis that they have shit on a "small number of LOYAL people" in this instance. But yes shit on them they have, as I wouldnt like to be forced out of my seat either.

There is no way that this decision has been based on the recent survey results. This decision was made prior to the survey and the survey results will be used as the smoke screen excuse. This makes the survey a "sham" and a farce, a very poor idea to pretend to involve the fans in a decision that was made weeks ago.
The North Stand will not sell out to families alone.

Once my lad is classed as an adult the only seats that "may remain" will be on the third tier. My current seat on 136 is a fantastic view, I have sat on the third tier once before and in my opinion it is shit and like watching football from outer space, 22 ants on a field chasing a golf ball. As much as I love City and even if we are European Champions, if I am forced up there and at an increase I will fuck it off, they can shove it up their arses.

Secondly- aren't the club probably about right in expecting lots of families to up from wherever they are and go to the North stand, for the cost saving of £45 multiplied by however many kids you bring with you? Won't this free up seats, especially across at the South Stand end and all around on the 2nd tier?

They may expect that but alot will stay put.

You can't stay in the North Stand long term, 3rd tier is likely afterwards, so people will bite the bullet and fork out. Depends if the child is 6 or 13 though.

Yes in essence.....but believe me you dont want 2nd tier coz that'll be like jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire....coz theyre gonna get hit in 2011/12 with the "experience" !

No, it clearly says Northstanders moving get first pick of available seats from 3-7 May.

Ok..calmed down a bit after posting on about page 3 or 4 of this thread.

The way I see it is this is part of a bigger plan.

If you were running the stadium, and you were tasked with selling 3 tickets on Colin Bell Level 2, what would you do?

Would you sell the 3 seats to someone who wanted a seat for him and his 2 kids for £765 (£95 each for the kids and £575.00 for him) or would you prefer to sell the seats to 3 adults for £1,725?..your going to take the latter.

The dilemma is that the club want to offer concessions for kids, so they allocate an area of the ground, where they are happy to sell the tickets to kids for £95. they do there research and realise that that they need both tiers of the North Stand to house these kids, as there isn't enough room in the 2nd tier alone.
Do they scrap it and say, let's keep things as they are and charge kids £300 per seat whereever they sit..or bite the bullet now, and get all the kids in one "end" and leave the rest of the stadium to the adults.

Now the problem ,, in the short term with this, is that we will be the only club that has an "end" that sounds like an England schoolboys international, whereas our other "end" is split with the away fans..not ideal. Equally we will have a half empty North Stand on midweek 8pm kick offs.

But spin forward a few years when the stadium has been expanded, or a new one built, and we can house £80K.Suddenly the kids area goes from being 25% of the capacity, to something neaer 10% of the enlarged capacity..and probably relocated into a corner of the stadium, as it used to be in maine road.

So in summary, I think they have to bite the bullet, and chuck the families in one end, if they want to continue with the £95.00 tickets..then in a few years when we expand, move the whole lot to a different area.

What the club should do, however, is decide that everyone who is being forced to leave the North Stand because they are not criteria could be offered seats in certain areas of the stadium at the same price as they would have paid in the North Stand for, say,the next 2 seasons...that might soften the blow a little

I presume you are not affected by being evicted from your seat then good luck to you. It does affect a large number of people in the North stand and potentially it will affect alot of people in other stands with kids as they will either pay double what they did last year to stay in thier seats or if money is tight they will move to get the cheap seats in the North stand.

I wish people who are not affected by these changes would shut the fuck up their "what the fuck are people moaning for" attitude stinks to be honest. I would love it if the club said that all long standing season ticket holders had first choice on any seat then see some of you who couldnt give a fuck moan then!!!!!
