With rumours of the possible departure of Laporte and ongoing Johnny Boulders injury problems it seems ludicrous to consider letting Ake leave unless he is adamant he wants to go. Top player with lots of premiership experience and convinced most doubters at the end of last season, give him a new contract and some playing time Pep
The situation with Ake is a strange one.
Sat on the bench when we had serious CB/FB issues at the end of the season, rumours that he was carrying an injury, yet within 10 days of the end of the season is playing for his country.

Ake certainly impressed last season when he played. Very good back up, but with our injury record in central defence and the number of games spread across all competitions, if he stays he will start plenty of matches.
