Even if he is fit to return in this calendar month, which is welcome news, it’ll likely be another month before he’s firing on all cylinders. He’s had precious little of a pre-season and more international than domestic playing time, so given his history of injuries, a softly softly approach might be in order.

Good to see Are back in the side yesterday. I think we have missed some of his composure in defence whilst he has been out injured. A shame his 'goal' was chalked off but he was reassuringly solid and dependable and slotted straight back in to the team.

He is defensively sound and offers a bit more at set pieces offensively IMO - he's different to Guardiol and I'm glad we have both of them in the squad.

Horrendous yesterday (fit or not) from the moment he got caught in possession after only a minute

Is becoming very injury prone, club should give serious thought to selling in summer. Can’t have him and stones missing half the season each
Sadly it's come to the stage where I could see one of Ake or Stones leaving because of injuries.

Both fine players when fit but both on big contracts and miss far too many games for a club like ours.

Not sure what the outrage is here, Ake wasn't selected for these internationals as he isn't fit. Koeman allowing 2 Dutch players to leave early should be commended, he's doing exactly what we all have been asking for, doesn't matter that one happens to be a dipper.

Ake has been loyal to his country, which is admirable, but on at least two occasions Koeman has played him when he was not fully fit, so he was then injured for the club who pays his wages. There is no obvious reason why the two players released are unfit, seems like double standards.

Probably didn't think they were good enough anyway ?

Played really well when he came on.

Hopefully Dias isn’t out too long, a Dias and Aké partnership should be much more solid.
