Without a dream 1 right at the death of the game. Were Ireland got England to the half way line. Also there was one around the hour mark or over were by the looks of things it looked like a English player came in from the side. Also kicking the ball out of a rook I don't know how many times that happened bad play by Ireland but I always thought that was a penalty against teams who done it. Yes England maybe should of had a try in the first half but for a brilliant tackle by Murray. To stop a certain try. Still there wasn't all that many try scoring chances. England done what England always do kick well. Hold onto possession well. Push teams back and control the game that's what England done in the first half. Second half more tighter with Ireland edging the half but fair play to England. Lancaster have them playing well. His 3 th season in charge and he is building well. Ireland under new management many plus points so we will get better. I think its still anyones 6 Nations to win.
Don't whine Leighton; it does you no favours. Even the panel on RTE said that England deserved the win. From my understanding (rudimentary, admittedly), if the ball is ''out'' in a ruck, the other side can kick the ball away, no touching the ball with the hand). Also;

Rook = A bird, or a piece on a chess board
Ruck = A move in a rugby game

I'll let you off with the ''of'' instead of ''have'' as City won, and I'm in a generous mood. Don't let it happen again!

Jimmy I will let you off with this post as I am in a good mood. Fucking spelling police out again you new what I was saying......

You can use your feet to move the ball in any direction if you're legally bound into a ruck.

In the passages of play that you've highlighted there's no issues with the mauling and no penalties given for it. Farrell legally kicks it out of a ruck near the end and around the hour mark there's a penalty given each way for not releasing the ball.

It was a tight game which was generally well reffed and had the correct outcome imo.

France have dropped Picamoles after his response to being sin binned last weekend. It's only for the Scotland game which I imagine they'll comfortably win anyway but it's still good to see. Football's gone way to far to turn it around now but the respect for officials in Rugby is incredible, there's no game without the man in the middle.

Yup. I love it when referees in rugby bollock the players!

There's a few amusing Nigel Owens clips about 'The soccer field is 500 yards that way'.

Good control of the players happens all the time though. Every week when some of the players get a bit heated a ref will tell them to grow up, ask if they've calmed down and are ready to play and the answer is always 'yes sir'. Handbags forgotten get on with the game.

As far as I am concerned in football, the only player that should be allowed to approach, the referee is the captain, to ask for the reason a decision was given, if controversial, anyone else approaching gets booked, simple as that. Its a pleasure watching the rugby players doing what they are told and abiding by the refs decisions. Apart from the cock that is Mike Phillips that is....!

I have often pondered why there is a difference in attitudes towards referees in both games. I think it's mainly due to the nature of rugby. Big calls are given during rucks, scrums. No doubt these are physically demanding drills but a decision is anticipated which is why the reaction from players is overall tame. I think video playback helps as well when a try needs to be reviewed.

A lot of decisions in football are given when the game is in full flow and fast paced which contributes to the frustration of the penalised player/side. A player may be running at full pelt and is then penalised for being offside. Having busted a gut and then out of nowhere play has been stopped it's bound to cause frustration from the player. Over time fellow players and screaming managers have built on that to intimidate the referee.

With football,

Well this is strange 2 days before Englands biggest game of the season and non of the plastic England fans are on this thread giving it large, at least Leighton wears his heart on his sleeve
A w Jones back and the best centre in the northern hemisphere back, basically the same team that stuffed 30 past you last year.
Ps My pet dragon is laughing.

Haha, keeping our powder dry ;)

We need to be more clinical than we have been so far against the Welsh. I'm fairly confident the pack will get us on top and Farell will get us position, much left confident about getting points when we get in your 22 though.
