Frustrating player. His offensive play could be excellent but I got frustrated with his long range shots that hardly ever hit the target. His ball control was very good but I often got the feeling that he thought he was better than he was.
As a defender he was average at best. Against a decent striker he always had a mistake in him. The pundits seemed to like him but I thought he was overrated

He was never great defensively but some of our defenders never have to do much defending

He had a real flair about him when at his best and was brilliant on the ball.

Wasn’t up to those standards this year, but his absence leaves the squad a bit light looking.

No other full back that we have can offer what he did
