He’s always had a shit attitude mate.
Juventus have been open that’s why they binned him off after just one season - which is why us buying him always struck me as a strange move, given the due diligence we normally carry out on the personalities of the players we sign.
He saw his arse during his first season with us, and nearly left in that first January window - but decided to try and knuckle down as his career was in danger of getting ridiculous.
It worked for a while, and he was fantastic for us - but sadly the tantrums were never far from the surface.
Juventus’ comments, and Pep’s about his behaviour that first year, are on record - so this isn’t disputed.
Even his best mate at City Bernardo is on record that he’s constantly whinging and moaning.
This is not new behaviour.
He’s never been a bad player though - you’re right on that. Just inconsistent because his attitude stinks!
