Get the feeling he has come back in a bad head space from the WC after being fucked out of the Portugal team where his performances were on a par with this seasons for us.
 
I was a huge fan but these days his inclusion makes me very nervous.Saying that,in the final 20 mins....when we were all over them and looking for that killer pass/ball....he would have been a great choice to enter the game.
 
I think he’s out the team to accommodate both Lewis and Grealish. When he’s not there it means Lewis can step into midfield and allows Ake to drop into a back 3 which then means Grealish has the freedom of the left rather than Cancelo taking up his spaces.

To be fair too, Cancelo was woeful pre-WC so the change wasn’t totally unnecessary.
 
1st half performance tonight shows exactly why he shouldn’t be playing, lacks effort, weak in the challenge and looks disinterested
 
I think he is a fantastic footballer, some great attributes but not a great defender. I know others don’t rate him at all etc etc. He will always split opinion football wise.

Where I think most blues will be aligned, is that he comes across as a bit of a mard-arse. I think we are now seeing him no longer being an automatic pick and I think as sure as eggs is eggs, his toys are either already out of the pram, or they will be soon.

I hate to say it but I think he is done here.
 
Out of form for a long time. Lost his place in the Portuguese team. We need him to show a bit of fight and get his performance back up
 
For me, this is the most worrying player for this season. He is doing everything wrong since August, and he is constantly being the worst player on the pitch. Gomez is even worse defensively, and Ake as good as he is defensively, doesn't have the weapons to be dangerous in our attack.

He is a full back. He was one of our best player last season. He can't defend so you play him as a winger??! This is how you adapt? Also , I don't get why pep does this against a team who is 10th in PL. Why can't we play our natural game without being terrified of whoever plays against us
 
I love Pep but I can't for the life of me work out why he decided to play him on the right wing tonight.

He had a dip in form before the world cup but all players have them, there's no need to freeze him out completely or start messing around with his position.

Get him back playing the inverted LB role where he was brilliant for us last season, we clearly miss his creativity.
