Cancelo was the biggest victim of the confusion with the system yesterday. Its a bad error but it's not like having him last man against Salah was fool proof even if he had done everything perfectly. Doesn't happen with Kev tamely tapping it into Alissons arms either.

Bad game but I can't really say any performance from players asked to do new confusing jobs are indicative of their overall quality in general.
 
Use him as a midfielder or a winger. We need 1/2 fullbacks that can actually defend, we cannot rely on experiments like Sergio Gomez whose first destiny was Girona.

Well that is complete nonsense isnt it. Walker is widely spoken about as one of the toughest fullbacks in the world.

Cancelo isn't the best defensively but 99.9% of games he tears teams apart and is a huge part of our success. You won't find anyone better.

Len does tear teams apart but is missing in his defensive mentality. Never been an admirer of Walkabout.
 
Cancelo does some mad things sometimes, but being one-on-one with Salah on the break from a long ball is tough. Anyone could get done there but he does need to try harder to slow him down. We should never be left with a single attacker against a world class forward, especially against them lot as we know its their forte to launch the ball into the general direction of a forward for them to run onto.
 
We've used 1-3-4-2-1 system that we have never played and in one of the most imporant matches in this season almost all the players have been forced by Pep to improvise. It's deja vu from our Champions League failures. We just cannot use systems that our players are struggling like Gundogan as a AM/winger, Foden as a wing-back and defense that is not in the excellent shape since the beginning of the season. Cancelo was a victim of a weird line-up.
