Barring the terrible defending on Salahs' goal, Pep has to not fuck about with him.
It doesn't really matter to me if he plays left or right back, the difference is that Pep packed the middle with 4 midfielders forcing him (and Foden) to pretty much stay wide.
He is not a traditional wingback, he needs freedom to come inside, swap with his winger (real winger), and such.
Pep's system had a knock on effect by making many players worse (like also Foden), because of his need to get all 4 midfielders in.
